A Message from the Chair of the Clinical Division, Carolyn Pela, Ph.D.
Welcome to the Clinical Division of the Alliance for Therapeutic Choice and Scientific Integrity. At the core of the Clinical Division, and really the Alliance as a whole, is the mission to provide research-supported, ethical clinical training for helping professionals who assist individuals as they explore their sexual attraction fluidity. In an era when the most minority of sexual minorities are being abandoned and even legally sanctioned for their desire to privilege their values over the political agendas of others, the clinicians of the Alliance offer compassion, understanding, and support for individuals experiencing distress related to their sexual attractions.
The clinical division, along with the medical and research division, has developed an 18-course curriculum that provides continuing education for licensed clinicians while offering them the opportunity to become Alliance designated preferred providers. The institute curriculum synthesizes the latest medical and clinical research and practice standards in application to Sexual Attraction Fluidity Exploration in Therapy (SAFE-T). We advocate the use of main stream clinical models and approaches and have developed practice guidelines that emphasize the essential ethical practice of supporting client autonomy and self-determination.
