Historic Court Victory!
My Favorite Arguments from the Otto et al. v. Boca Raton, FL, et al.
Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals Decision
Christopher Rosik, Ph.D.
The Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals struck down laws that ban counselors from providing minor clients with help to reduce or eliminate unwanted same-sex attractions, behaviors, or gender confusion.
Former Alliance President Dr. Julie Hamilton and therapist Dr. Robert Otto and their minor clients challenged the constitutionality of ordinances enacted by the City of Boca Raton and Palm Beach County which prohibited those minors from receiving voluntary talk therapy concerning their their sincerely held religious beliefs and the conflicts they experience in their sexual attractions or biological sex.
Liberty Counsel - a heroic international litigation, education, and policy ministry - and their legal team worked for more than two years to represent the rights of licensed professional therapists in the courts to bring about this historic victory.
